I bought the Therasandals on sale at KMart for $9.99. I have very very flat feet and as a result I have ankle and knee pain. Within a couple of days of weraing these sandals the pain disappered. The only drawback is the toe piece that tends to chafe the skin on the inner surface of the big toe and the second toe. I liked them enough to buy several pairs for family members....but i will include a box of bandaids.

If you are not on a budget try the Fitflops or MBT shoes

I love my TheraShoes. I have several pairs, even bought a pair for my 74 year old mother! As a dog groomer, I'm on my feet all day long. The TheraShoes feel like I'm walking on clouds. There is so much shock absorption in these shoes, I'm never anxious to take them off. They do, however, run small.

For me, the MBT's are more supportive than Skechers. I plan on trying the TheraShoe next. Using the MBT's have saved my feet (arthritis)my back, my knees and hips. I'm a nurse and am on my feet 12hrs/day.

I agree - therashoes are fab! However I also agree they come up small -I
had to go up a size. I have a very high instep and tend to tip backwards
slightly to compensate - I can feel a difference already after only a
week in my stomach muscles - almost like I've done a few sit ups the
night before! 35 - bargain!

Originally, I bought several pair of MBT's (both M-walk style)--noticed they were made in China. I have plantar fasciitis, and this was the ONLY thing that seemed to relieve it--I can no longer wear any other shoe without great discomfort and relapse of P.F.! The first pair of MBT's has now broken down enough (after 6 months) that I am having P.F. pain again. The newer pair (probably the last one I'll be able to purchase at a reasonable price--about $168) I'm just beginning to wear, and it is back to giving me wonderful support for my condition.

I first tried Skechers--it's okay, but it is NOT MBT--the comfort level is very different, and I would never recommend them. I wear these only to meetings when I will be only a short time on my feet.

As for Therashoes, they are awful! VERY uncomfortable, and would never work for those suffering from P.F., who need good arch support (I wonder about all the positive reports I'm reading as to just who is writing them, or perhaps they happen to have "perfect" feet!--OR, perhaps they have never experienced REAL comfort, as with MBT's???? OR perhaps my feet are just so "needy," I must have them, and others can get away with Skechers or Therashoes?).

An addition to the list of those tried to replace MBT's is Avi-Motion (Avia shoes "try" at MBT-style!)--tried both pair now available, and kept one of them (mistake!) so I could wear it outside (the sole started breaking down during this time, even though I only took a few steps outside!). I wore them only for about 5 hours one day at meetings, and my arch dropped drastically (overpronation) and I ended up with severe pain once again, taking a chiropractor to work on my foot to bring it back to "comfort level".

Since I've heard such "horror" stories from those who have bought MBT's at an unbelievable price (like under $100), don't think I want to try those--especially hearing that many of these MBT's have to be sent back to CHINA to get your money back! I checked out a couple of websites, and notice foreign names or strange e-mail addresses, and that's enough to stop my looking further--interesting though, that they have more styles than I ever remember the original company offering!

SO, what's left? Perhaps Ryn shoes is the only one?--but they are SO expensive! DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A SOURCE WHICH IS LESS EXPENSIVE TO ORDER FROM? I live in Charlotte, N.C.

Friend told me about the Skechers Shape up and how she loves them, but paid good $ for them. I was at the sports store came across Thera Shoes sneakers, they were on sale very reasonable and seem to fit nice. Bought them put them on as soon as I walked out of the store and they are very comfortable. Now I have antsy feet to walk somewhere but right now no where to go. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for comfort when walking.

FYI - last winter the MBT website dropped their price on some styles to under $100 in response to competition (And rave reviews!!) from not just skechers and Reebok, but also Therashoes.

I have worn Therashoes on my feet for 8-9 hours per day on concrete floors. Eliminated my back pain, knee pain, and hip stiffness.
I tried the Skechers but didn't like the feel- it was like walking on one of the expensive foam mattresses. Therashoes take some adjustment - you can't just go trotting off as your body has to be on the proper alignment or your gait is . . . funny. But once you adjust (and it only took a half hour or so) you stand taller, walk smoother, and have great posture!

My feet hurt from hard work. They aren't spoiled, so I wouldn't call them "Needy". I have suffered from pain so "REAL" I spent half the night in tears trying everything from foot soaks to massages to pain meds to absorbine jr to just get them to stop hurting so I could go to sleep then back to work the next day. I can't afford ORIGINAL MBT shoes (heaven forbid anyone get knockoffs made in China . . . Just brand name designer clothing etc. from China) but I did try them on and walk around in them.

Bottom line is this: For hard working people, who hurt, and who don't earn enough to afford pricey branded status shoes for their feet, Therashoes are absolutely fabulous. I'm not ashamed to let people know where I bought them (K Mart) or that they only cost $29.99. The way I look at it, me and my happy feet can take the extra $100 or so dollars and go do fun stuff with my family.

PS: From what I was told by Therasoes president (who answered my e-mail himself!!)there will be a line with non-slip soles this fall.
Perfect for nurses, restaurant workers, anyone who has to pay close attention to stability on slippery surfaces. I'm going to buy some as soon as I see them in stores.

Actually, I disagree. Therashoes look horrible, and feel terrible. I
tried some Shape-ups, they are amazing and look amazing. In my opinion,
the cost is definitely worth it.

Its personal to each person which shoe is the best fit, most comfy etc..To John Wright (UK), I got my Therashoes from "Sports Direct.com", ladies though. I didn't get on with MBTs at ALL,very painful despite wearing them in gradually. I personally adore my trail running trainer shoes (Salomon, a french company).

My knees normally hurt whenever I jog but I've found that they don't hurt when I wear my TheraShoe trainers, I also have the boots for cold weather - I'm looking to buy the sandals for summer now.

I just got therashoes yesterday at Kmart and wanted to do some
research on them compared. I have tried out the sketchers (didn't
care for them...overpriced and not as good as the therashoes). So far
so good. I am going to be working outside all day today in these
shoes so its time to put them to the test. I have PF and have had a
severe case of it for years. I was able to finally get rid of the PF
to some degree but there is still pain in my feet when I walk in most
shoes. I have been stuck in these ugly house shoes for about a year
trying to escape the pain. I have to say the fact that these
therashoes are also slip resistant was a bonus for me personally. If
you work at a restaurant or in places where it can get slippery then
these are some shoes for you. Will post again if there are any
changes. I got them on sale 19.99 at Kmart.
