I have been wearing MBT for the last few years and have became so accustom to using them all the time and this type of standing and walking which I really can't live without now! I also have gotten somewhat frustrated with the quick wear & tear in the most recent pair of MBT that I own.

While on vacation a few months ago one day I was just randomly walking by a shoe store and saw what looked like MBTS in the window, but their design was stunning and appealing. The assortment was broad even with sharp dress shoes and slides.

In the store they had a cross section of shoes cut in half of what I learned were RYN and one of the MBT and visually you could see the RYN is a much more technical shoe. Instead of the cheap looking heel pad in the MBT (which I never understand why they didn't develop further) the RYN has a sort of combo of NIKE Shox and Air cushion for lack of better words.

I was wearing my MBTS like I almost always am - the ones that seemed to be quickly on their way to an end. I tried the RYN Nazuca on one foot, MBT still on the other. And that was it, never did I ever think I would have that sensation when I first put on a pair of MBTS!

I did not even hesitate to pay the higher price than MBT and bought them and have worn them for the last few months. So far so very good, much better than MBTS for me, lighter, more stable as well as energetic almost with a kick. They appear to be really a better quality and not that it matters to me, but they sure also look a lot better than MBT.

This got me wondering why I just stumbled across this amazing shoe and did not find it in any literature or big advertising. I did some research and came across this article on the internet: http://www.bookla.com/style_ryn.html
This sort of answers my question, it seems all the good technical sneakers always originated from Asia in the last twenty years but always under European or US brands and big marketing. With RYN from Korea I guess the product just speaks for itself.

Where I live they don't sell them yet and I'm the only person who has a pair. I'd be interested in hearing from others who have the shoe if they also are in awe of RYN like me. And when RYN will be in regular stores? I guess if you don't live in Korea they are very hard to find still.

I've been looking at MBT shoes for awhile having problems deciding on colour, size , style etc. but saw the RYN shoes in a store the other day (a regular shoe store). I had heard about them earlier but not seen them available (I live in Sweden). I think they will be easier to get hold of soon as they seem to be marketed around the world at the moment.
So I guess I need to try out a pair of RYN too before I make the final decision.

I recently starting looking into MBT, and once I started my research, I also found about the RYN shoes. I have horrible feet/knees/back pain, so I am very interested to try on -- an possibly buy -- a pair of RYN shoes. Key words here being "try on" -- before buying. Unfortunately, the shoes aren't in the regular stores here -- California. I think it's just a matter of time before they start showing up in stores in the U.S., but I would like to have some now. :-)

I don't how many people will read this forum, but I have a suggestion. There is an online shoe store called "Zappos.com" that is supposed to have terrific customer service policies. They offer free shipping -- both ways!! -- for all their orders. So, you can try on your shoes and return them if they don't work for you. And, they offer a 365-day return policy! I've never ordered from them; however, last year, I saw a segment about their business on the TV show Nightline. My suggestion would be for anyone who is interested in RYN shoes -- to send an E-mail to Zappos and ask them to start carrying RYN shoes. (They already carry MBT, so it's not an unreasonable request.) I just sent an E-mail to them the other day, requesting that they start carrying the RYN shoes. If they receive enough E-mails, I assume they will give it some serious consideration.

My thoughts on the MBT shoes ...
During my Internet research, I read in a few different places that the quality of MBT has changed drastically in the last two years because the original developer/owner sold the company, and supposedly the new owners are using different/cheaper materials to make the shoes. This would explain why some shoes are wearing out sooner than expected.

Everyone, please be aware that some of the postings here from "customers" are actually from certain company representatives misrepresenting themselves as consumers. As with anything else, I guess, take what you read with a grain of salt.

Case & point. Vanessa, thank you for your opinion but we are aware that you work for MBT and it in quite unfortunate that you perceive the voice of the consumer to take what you read with a grain of salt.

I have worn Mbt shoes now for over 5 years .I previously had knee pain and have not experienced it since, with one exception. I did try a pair of the RYN shoes and at first they seemed great. On the second day my knee pain started to come back and decided to wear my Mbt's. I currently have 5 pairs and still where my first pair.

As a pedorthist at a shoe store that carried MBT but switched over to RYN to solve the issue with premature sole failure of the Vietnamese and Chinese copies of MBT by RYN manufactured footwear, I was also in favor of the improved medial-lateral stability of the latest RYN design. If someone is feeling discomfort in their knees when they switch back and forth from their MBTs and their RYNs, then they will need to build up gradually their use of the RYN footwear just like it is recommended with MBT. The upper leg muscles that got "trained" to the instability of the MBT will react differently to the improved stability of the RYN design. The on-going R&D over the past 10+ years by RYN addresses their original design that they provided to MBT. Many clinicians liked the rocker sole design but questioned the hyper-pronation that can occur with the old sole design. Over-training of certain upper leg muscles by your MBTs just means that you need to use your RYN footwear to normalize the other upper leg muscles.

I have also noted on this website and countless other blogs RYN reps posting as "customers" in effort to plug their shoes and bash MBT as thoroughly as possible. Too bad there isn't an honest, subject review of these shoes anywhere. And a shame people forever have to be so competitive while actual customers suffer the confusion.

Mark, RYN has no part of bashing other products. This is an electrifying new category of footwear that contributes in a way to many people living healthier, happier lives; and as far as we are concerned the bigger and broader selection for the consumer the better.

Albeit this is a highly creative conspiracy theory however, that any negative reviews on other products could in no way be genuine but, if negative, must certainly have stemmed from us.

Got my first pair of Ryn shoes. Great fit, nice styling (better than MBTs) and am very pleased after about two weeks wearing them.
They are lighter than MBTs. Got mine from an online store in the UK. Good and prompt service.

I purchased the MBT sport II, I have had them now for about 3 months, and I walk three miles 5 days a week. Two miles on dirt and 1 mile on sidewalk so far I have not had any problems with the MBT time will tell. I like the shoes so far even tried on a pair of shape ups and they seem softer support on the arch. Have not tried on RYN. I am female, 64years old and in good health.

I have been very pleased with the fit and feel of my RYN Babylon men's dress shoes. I also wear MBT Chapas, which have held up pretty well for about 1 1/2 years.

I own a retail store in Austin TX solely dedicated to pain relief and high-end comfort. To cut through all the brand-bashing noise, I have written the following review comparing and contrasting RYN vs. MBT:
